(hes back)
I pulled the sheets off an empty bed and grimaced in disappointment; how many days had it been since I had been anticipating waking him up? The maid beat me to it and now I could hear him - in the bathroom - clearing his throat of the clogged mucus of the night. The broken strands of sounds I heard reeked of jet lag.
When he appeared, he was unshaven, unruly and unhappy.
I didn’t wait to question him.
He held open one arm: it was a one armed-hug from his side and a two-arm, heavy-heart and whole-body hug from mine.
