hmmm... in response to ur comments abt state of no-war...
peace b/w india n pak is almost impossible...<-- thats probably the only thing i can agree with u on...
there is a huge difference between wat it was like in 50's and what it is now...the whole scenario has been changed... its mainly about economics and trade routes... indians will be among top 2-3 economic powers within next 10-15 years n they need safe routes for their goods... safe passge for oil n gas pipelines from central asia...not to mention keeping huge military presence in kashmir is a major obstacle in their economic development.. may be these r a few major reasons they want things to settle down with pakistan..forunately for us n unfortunately for them... pakistan's strategic location also makes it extremely important for them to have good terms with us...BUT they r looking for something which is "acceptable" to them... n thats a bit tricky...i bet they w'd luv to make LOC as international border.. its almost ideal solution for them... or if they can convince us to leave kashmir conflict as it is n cooperate on "other" areas...
when i said conflicts r usually resolved in battlefields..i was giving a general historic reference ..pakistan can't afford war... we r not capable of that at this point of time...n am NOT passionate abt war at all...war is a horrific thing.. it brings death n destruction..n frankly we can jus imagine that coz we haven't seen one in our life time..n i hope we dont see one...BUT..its a tool that makes the way for peace...thats what history teaches us.. thats the way it has been.. n probably will go on .. n thats why i believe conflict solutions r only possble between powerful nations.. n NOT between a weaker nation n a powerful one...
perhaps state of no-war is the only option we r left with at this point of time(it isn't a solution though).. if that means we avoid war n focus on improving trade, economic and all other terms n let kashmiris find a way for themselves...is that state of no-war is all about ..something in between war n peace.. rite? but is that really possible?

hey btw..SAARC was formed in mid 80's... i think in 85... n not in 50's.. perhaps u were referring to CENTO n a few other craps that were formed in 50's against socialist block.. jfyi
